For the candidate
On this page, you will find useful information about the assessment, its process, and tips to help you prepare.

Coming to Ikigai's personal assessment?
The purpose of the assessment is to evaluate the compatibility between your strengths, motivational factors, and the requirements of the position you are applying for. The assessment provides additional information to support the recruitment decision and offers you insight into how well the role aligns with your expectations and sources of motivation.
Based on the assessment, we will prepare a written evaluation report, which will be delivered to both you and the client. We will review your assessment results during the interview; however, you will also have the opportunity to discuss the results in a separate feedback session once the assessment process has been completed.

Frequently Asked Questions and Tips for Preparing for a Personality Assessment
What can I expect from the assessment?
Our goal is to make the assessment process as smooth and positive an experience for you as possible. We approach each participant with empathy and as an individual.
The purpose of our assessment is to examine the fit between your strengths, motivational drivers, and the requirements of the role you are applying for.

The assessment consists of two parts: pre-assignment tasks and a scheduled session held via Teams. Below, you’ll find more detailed information on both.
Preparing for the pre-assignment tasks
We recommend completing the pre-assignment tasks in good time, as leaving them to the last minute may cause unnecessary stress. When you start, make sure you have a quiet space and a stable internet connection. To minimize interruptions, consider disabling notifications and alerts on your computer and nearby smart devices.

A psychologist will evaluate the pre-assignment tasks (both problem-solving and personality tasks) and the interview as a whole. Therefore, it’s not necessary to overanalyze individual questions or statements. You’ll have the opportunity to go through your pre-assignment results during the interview with the psychologist, receive feedback, and share your own thoughts about them.
Time-limited tests
Before starting the timed tests, you will have a chance to practice using example questions. These examples help you understand the test interface and the types of questions you’ll encounter. You can also practice pinning the task instructions to the top of your screen to make the timed section smoother. Remember to read all instructions carefully within the test system before starting.
If the test allows you to choose a language, we recommend using your native language. If it is not available, select the language you are most comfortable with.
Preparation for the scheduled session (incl. occupational psychology interview & possible simulation task)
You can prepare for the interview by reflecting on what you hope for in your next role and how your skills and experience align with those expectations. The interview focuses primarily on your personal characteristics, while professional expertise will be discussed only briefly. Our psychological consultant’s aim is to support you through the questions they ask during the interview. The purpose is also to help you highlight your strengths and sources of motivation in relation to the position.

The assessment often includes a simulation exercise, in which you get to solve realistic work-related situations. This task typically begins with an independent review of materials or a scenario where you assume a specific role. Afterwards, you may be asked to present your findings or discuss your approach.

The simulation may involve various materials, so ensure you have the necessary tools ready. For example, if you normally use an external monitor, it might be useful to have it set up for the session. However, no specific equipment or setup is required — we want the exercise to feel as natural and comfortable for you as possible.
